Description:

This position is in support of a cash management system developed and operated with the U.S. Treasury. It involves a significant level of interaction with clients within the U.S. Government and financial institutions that provide services to the U.S. Treasury.

Responsibilities:

• Design and construct large Relational Databases for Operational Data Stores and Data Warehousing
• Develop Data Modeling and responsible for data acquisition, access analysis/design, and archive/recovery/load design and implementation
• Integrate new data with existing structures and continuously improve system functionality and optimize performance. Data includes operational, financial, and other related data
• Develop, implement and maintain integrated logical and physical data models.
• Develop and maintain an integrated data dictionary
• Work with end users, managers, knowledge workers, business analysts, technical staff, and project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance data integrity and metadata for operational data structures and the systems that use them
• Work with DBAs to implement new standards, warehouses, and other data stores
• Work with 3rd party vendors to integrate COTS packages
• Proficient in ETL development and Business Intelligence
• Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies
• Serve as a data technical strategy expert and lead the creation of technical requirements and design deliverables
• Advise service partners regarding the planning, scheduling, various procedures, and problem resolution
• Represents the enterprise or business unit on various committees/teams

Requirements:

• BS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, Math or Business combination of experience and education
• 7+ years of programming/design experience in Mainframe/Client Server business applications
• 6+ years of Intranet/Internet/Extranet applications Design and Development experiences.
• Strong understanding of web servers and relational Databases (DB2, SQL, Oracle, Sybase), Object Oriented design and methodologies, and an in-depth knowledge of transactional systems
• Significant business application experience, with the ability to understand emerging technologies and architectures, as well as the ability to apply that knowledge at a strategic level influencing technology solutions to match business goals and objectives.
• Highly organized with excellent decision making, analytical, problem solving, presentation, and leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills and be able to interface with all levels of management, internal/external service partners and most important, executive management.
• Must be able to listen and interpret needs of multiple groups in order to determine the strategic direction for systems and process implementations

Additional Desired Skills:

• Experience within a financial environment is preferred
• Department of Treasury application experience is a plus

Other:
• Requires working in a dynamic, high production, deadline-oriented environment
• Extended hours are sometimes required when working to achieve project deadlines or to assist in resolution of production system problems
• After hours, on call support are required
• Some travel may be required
