Description:

This is a Senior-Level application development/support position for a cash management system developed and operated under a long term relationship with the U. S. Treasury. The position involves a significant level of interaction with clients within the U. S. Government and financial institutions that provide services to the U. S. Treasury. This position demands competence in a highly visible and challenging environment. Incumbent independently performs development and support functions in a complex environment


Responsibilities:

• Must understand business functions and working within the SDLC
• Perform planning, requirement definition, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and documentation activities
• Incumbent will work to resolve challenging, time sensitive problems in application support environment
• Provides project leadership for assigned initiatives and be effective in coordinating activities across numerous teams
• Work with business and technology managers at various levels
• Required to support multiple technology platforms and tools
• Serve as a solid technical resource with project leadership experience and desire
• Develop estimates, milestones, detailed project plans and status communication documentation


Requirements:

• Broad technical background
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 7+ years of progressive programming and application support experience in financial services or information systems industry
• Demonstrated effectiveness with increasing levels of responsibility along with strong analysis and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required accompanied by superior organization skills and the ability to plan/manage assignments and time effectively.
• Work well both independently and in team situations.
• Solid web-based programming and application support experience.
• Distributed application programming/support experience in UNIX AIX environment.
• Proficient in AIX, SQL/Oracle, XML, JAVA/J2EE (JSPs, Servlets) and have experience with the following: Websphere, Apache/Tomcat webserver technology using JSP and Servlets.
• Understand and leverage project methodology's to complete essential functions of the job.
• Familiar with Office Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Visio).

Additional Desired Skills:

• Experience within a financial environment
• Department of Treasury application experience


Other:

• May be called upon to work extended hours when working to achieve project deadlines or to assist in resolution of production system problems.
• Some travel may be required.
• Must be willing to provide pager coverage, work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project and application support requirements.
