This position is with one of the top financial companies in the world.

The Web Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of web and web servers used for production, UAT, and development. The successful candidate will work closely with application development teams and test organizations across several lines of business.
Responsibilities will include installation, configuration, and tuning of various web applications components (Application Servers, HTTP Servers).

Candidate should have at least 3 years experience as a systems administrators managing complex environments, with significant experience administering systems using 2 or more of the following: Webshpere, Bea Weblogic, .Net Framework, TomCat, iPlanet, Apache, IIS6. Networking, Unix/Windows system administration proficiency is also required. Knowledge of web component operations, tuning, connectivity; Aptitude for quickly acquiring technical expertise in related areas; Responsible for security compliance of the web environments you manage. Candidate should have a strong customer service focus, good English language and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Problem management and support;
Execute change requests for client environments;
Analyzes throughput and bandwidth restriction issues and apply load balancing and file optimization techniques to rectify known problems;
Implement server security baselines recommended by ITRM;
Assure web services are always available and adequate fault tolerance is provided
Trend and analyze user access and optimize web services to accommodate those habits;
Ensure sensitive or classified information is not inadvertently released;
Review site for hacker attempts and provide counter-measures to prevent future attacks;
Assure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference;
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease downtimes times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The materials, methods, practices, regulations, and equipment used in the development, analysis, maintenance, and management of a web-based automation systems.
In depth knowledge of Windows 2000 or Sun Solaris, Internet Information System (IIS 5/6.0), IBM Websphere or BEA Weblogic, .NET Framework, a variety of HTTP Servers (iPlanet, Apache, IIS 6, solid experience with a variety of web service products, and various web and network analysis utilities, content management tools
Network optimization techniques, fault tolerance concepts and implementation, and server architecture.
Produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation and grammar.
Light programming in java is a plus
